Translation by blue_jus7 @ Code Azzurro
based on Korean translation by http://blog.daum.net/yurerukaze/

In the midst of the many dance groups in Korea, CNBLUE uniquely stands firm as a band style group. They studied music for half a year last year in Japan, where they did live house and live street performances. They performed their own songs with high musicality; in Korea they were dubbed as “the rookie that is not like a rookie”, while in Japan their live house ticket performances were always sold out in an instance. Leaving all other aside, all four members have a model type figure being 180cm tall, making them ideal to be called “KkotMiNam” (handsome) idols.
Now, let’s get to know more about them.

What kind of group is CNBLUE?

MH: As you can see, we’re a four-member band consisting of a bassist, two guitarists and a drummer. JH: (in Japanese) We’ve said this before, but our goal is to be a successful live band.

Your 2nd single [I don't know why] had been released.

JH: I composed the song [Lie]. The lyrics are in Japanese, in my opinion you can capture the emotion better with Japanese than English. I can’t write in English because I don’t know English. I wish that I know many languages so that I can express what’s in my heart.

YH: I wrote and composed the song [I don't know why]. I thought that I wanted to try doing what I’ve never tried doing before and Sweden synthesizer has been popular to use these days, so I experimented with that kind of style. It’s a song that captures the emotion after debut until now.

How do you compose songs in the midst of your busy schedule?

JH: Yonghwa hyung does not sleep to compose.
YH: Because it’s something that I like, relaxing while composing at the same time.

Is the result of your experience of studying in Japan included in these two songs?
YH: I think it has influenced around more than 80% of the song.

MH: If mine and Jungshin’s song were included in the album, I think it would have shown everything we have learned.

JS: I’m currently learning how to compose from Yonghwa hyung.

All four members came to Japan to study music. I’ve heard that you enjoy Japanese drama and fashion, what do you think about Japanese women?

MH: I think Japanese women’s way of speaking and their accents are cute. I’m not fussy about nationality, my ideal girl is someone that’s like a friend, someone that I can feel comfortable with when I’m around her. Right now I’m still young…

YH: Many Japanese women sound a bit nasal, I think it’s their charm. Honestly, I like girls that can always be there for me to support me.

JH: I like the main female lead character in the movie [Be With You]

JS: The female characters in Japanese drama – how they cook and the way they speak, I can feel their charms.

Yonghwa and Jungshin has a lot of interest in fashion, could you alight us with your obsession on clothes, including the other members too.

YH and JS: (in chorus) There’s A LOT~ we could really talk a lot.

MH: I wasn’t really into fashion before, I’ve been influenced a lot from the fashion enthusiastic Yonghwa hyung and Jungshin. I like wearing sweats and also the neat and tidy, smart type clothes. I like the brand Bottega Venetta.

YH: I like TOPSHOP in Harajuku and also MERCIBEAUCOUP.

JH: I don’t really know much about fashion.

YH: Jonghyun has a lot of Adidas (laugh). He’s always in sweats (training wear).

Seems like Jungshin also has an obsession for clothes

JS: My wardrobe consists of black and white. I like Junya Watanabe and Comme des Garçons (both are Japanese brand)

You are also a model for casual brand in Korea, right?

YH: That brand is the best! please advertise it.

You debuted in Korea last January, going back and forth to Japan in between your hectic schedule, everyone is worried about your health.

JH: Minhyuk’s skin is very smooth like a baby. I also do (the beauty routine) that he’s doing…I always try to look at things from the bright side, now I’m paying more attention so that the stress is not piling up.

What do you do to relieve stress?

YH: Performing. Relieving it on stage.

JH: I can forget all my troubles when I’m performing.

Finally, what are CNBLUE dreams and goals?

YH: I want to perform in places that we haven’t had the chance to perform in, I would like our music to be heard by more people and to be a band that receives love by many people in the world.

MH: I would like for us to continue be together even when we become Grandfathers, that is what I really wanted.
