[NEWS] Korea-Japan different views on CNBLUE 'IDOL vs TALENTED' 01.10.2010

Music wise, there has been a big difference in perspective on CNBLUE in Korea and Japan.

CNBLUE is known as an idol in Korea but on the other hand, in Japan, they have established themselves as a band in Japan. According to one Warner Music Japan official, "CNBLUE has the image of an Idol Singer in Korea, in Japan music scene they are more and more recognized truly as a Band."

CNBLUE 2nd single 'I don't know why' (out on September 16th) reached #1 on the Oricon Indie Single Weekly Chart last September 27th. Their 1st single which was out in June 'The Way' has also raised to #7. In Japan, all of their performances were sold out and they also showed a powerful performance on stage.

The Warner Music Japan representative also said, "For a Korean band doing rock music and active as a band in Japan, with a result of reaching #1 in an Oricon Indie Chart, with an always sold out concert, is a great achievement." "Their potential and talent is clearly seen," he praised.

The CNBLUE members appearance and height is just as good as the other handsome idol group and therefore known as an 'Idol Band', however they are also a talented band as the members actually do play their instruments and also write and compose their own music. And because of this, CNBLUE is recognized more as a 'Musician' then a 'Star'.

Recently in a Japan search portal Biglobe (ww.biglobe.ne.jp), CNBLUE had the highest vote for 'which KPOP group would you like to see to have a major debut in Japan'. CNBLUE is truly appreciated as a representative of a Korean talented band in the Japan Music World.

CNBLUE, as a request from their Japanese fans, will be having their Japan fan-meeting on October 28th in the Tokyo International Forum.

[ NEWS ] CNBLUE And Kara, Reaching New Heights On The Oricon Charts 30.09.2010

Being a k-pop star isn't only about dominating Korea's music charts anymore. Many idol groups are eyeing out foreign markets with one of the most appealing targets being the neighboring country, Japan. Just weeks or months ago, girl idol groups were entering the Japanese music market, and breaking records by making it into the top ten. As if that wasn't an achievement in and of itself, a Korean group has now officially snatched away the coveted number one slot.

After releasing their second single, "I Don't Know Why" in Japan on September 16th, CNBLUE saw their song climb to number on on the Oricon weekly Indies Singles Chart on September 27th. Their first single, "The Way", released last June also is faring well, holding down the seventh spot. For those unfamiliar with The Oricon Charts, they are equivalent to The Billboards in the U.S.

The group's success isn't surprising seeing as how "I Don't Know Why" had a strong start from the get-go. The track reached eighth -- not on the Indies Singles Chart, but the overall charts -- on the very day that it was released. It then inched one up to be at seventh place during the week of the 18th before reaching number one the following week.

CNBLUE also came out as the winning choice on a special k-pop survey conducted by the Japanese search portal site, www.biglobe.ne.jp. They were picked as the group that people would most love to see debut in Japan.?The popular band will be holding their first official fan club event, "Welcome to BOICE JAPAN", on October 28th at the Tokyo International Forum Hall.

It's not just CNBLUE repping Korea well in Japan. KARA has also reached an incredible feat; hitting number two on the Oricon Best Album Charts.

After debuting in the foreign country in August, their debut single "Mister" reached fifth on the Oricon Weekly Charts, marking them as the first foreign Asian girl group to enter into the top ten. Also, 18,223 copies of their compilation album, "KARA BEST 2007-2010", were sold on the very first day of sales. That was a big enough figure to place them at number two on the daily Oricon Album Sales Charts. They were only behind one of the top singers in Japan, JUJU, who sold 19,974 copies of her album "Request". This is the best a Korean girl group has ever done in Japan.

Popular Band CNBLUE's new single reached the highest rank on the Oricon chart.

CNBLUE's 2nd single 'I Don't Know Why', which they introduced last September 16th, reached #1 on the Oricon Indie Single Weekly Chart on the 27th. Their first single 'The Way', which came out last June, is also still on the 7th spot.

On the first day of the release, this 2nd single did not only enter the indies section but also in the whole single album section they managed to enter #8 on the Oricon Daily Chart on the 18th, with the highest position of #7.
